Hi Folks, I am trying to track down a service manual for a 1989 GSX R 250. This machine is in mint condition and was recently given (that's right given) to my son. It is a grey import into Australia [where we live] and as such finding support for the same is proving a little tricky. Does anyone have a) a service manual they are prepared to part with? b) a website that might sell a manual to us? c) a huge heart to email me an already scanned mint condition manual? :-) Thanks in advance. Also three side issues. 1. On cold mornings it is proving to be a bit of a pain to start. Been right through the HT leads and recovered an un-loved electrical system back to new. Rebalanced the carbs, which were a mile out!. Did the spark plugs and air filter. Done the new battery part. Tested the charging of the same. The only thing I can think of now is the shims not openning the valves enough in the cold morning to actually get the fuel to where it needs to be. Any other left field thoughts and suggestions [serious ones only please] welcomed. Once it has run once in a day the rest of the day it starts first pop, no issue. 2. Pack Rack quest Was there ever a pack rack made for this model? Finding one on the web is proving tricky also. My son is a chef and he wants to carry the knifes to and from work, without psychically carrying them on his back, for obvious reasons. A pack rack would therefore be a real life saver, if anyone knows where we could track one down? 3. The seat on ours is not orginal. We would like to track down an orginal Gixxer seat for the machine also. Thanks in advance folks! Took Gauge out on the NSR last night to do some parking lot drills. Had him doing circles working on body position and just told him to keep tightening them up and going faster.

Next thing I hear is grinding.

He took 1/4 inch off the end of the pegs, toe sliders are trashed and he drug knee in a circle for about 4 laps. He had the back tire sliding out like crazy and never let out. I damn near cried.

It was almost dark and dint have the camera but we're going out again tonight so I'll get some pics. We came home and leaned the bike over to see how far he had to be to drag pegs and the damn bodywork was almost touching.

PICS!

KAWASAKI have unveiled their self-hyped 2011 ZX-10R race bike at the Nurburgring circuit, Germany.
The images give us our best pictures yet of what the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R road bike will look like.
Here's what Kawasaki have to say about it:
The all-new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R race bike has been unveiled to the international press at the
Nürburgring racetrack, in advance of the full launch of the production machine in early October.

The new Ninja ZX-10R race bike has been eagerly anticipated by everyone involved in the Superbike
racing project for a while now and therefore the Kawasaki Superbike Racing Team are extremely keen to get started with the new Ninja ZX-10R.

Steve Guttridge, the Race Planning Manager from Kawasaki Motors Europe, said of the new bike and the timing of the ‘sneak preview’ of the racebike version of the Ninja ZX-10R, “The new race bike has been eagerly anticipated by everyone involved in the Superbike racing project for a while now. The PBM team have evolved and restructured continuously in order to be in a position to utilise the new bike's potential to the maximum next season. As you can imagine the Paul Bird team are ultra keen to get started with it and so who better than the team itself to help us show the first edition of the race version of it here at the Nürburgring?”
The new superbike has already been put through development testing by noted WSB racers Akira Yanagawa and Tom Sykes, where the pairing, thankfully, found the new machine to be more responsive and better handling than the existing 10R.

The production model will be launched at the Intermot show in October.

Most likely a Marine from Camp Pendleton. Cops are extremely vigilant when it comes to ticketing sport bikes down there. Too many Marines getting killed.

I'm pro-LEO but chasing these kids isn't gonna help lower the death rate.

First street bike. http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11505&goto=newpost Wed, 01 Sep 2010 03:12:14 GMT Hi, everyone I am looking to get into... Hi, everyone I am looking to get into street riding and need help deciding on a bike. I have been riding dirtbikes for about 5 years and have taken the MSF course so the controls of a bike are familiar to me. I drive manual cars frequently so the idea of a clutch and shifting come naturally to me. I have been deciding between a used street triple r and a used gsxr 750. I am looking for a bike that can be tracked but also has plenty of low and mid-range torque for city riding. I have drifted away from the 600s for the reason that they have all there torque in the higher revs which doesn't seem very suitable for city riding. I have also considered the daytona 675 but when I sat on one the ergos were pretty extreme which would become tiresome, I hear the gsxr 750's ergos are managable. The street triple seems like an ideal choice but they are so expensive and hard to find. I am only looking to spend around $6,000-$7,000 and another $800 or so on gear. I know I will probably get flamed on for the choice in a gsxr for a first bike but I will take it slow on either bike and will get frame sliders etc to save the bike in a case of a drop (very possible me being a new rider). I like that these bikes are right in the middle of a sv650 (twin torque little top end) and a 600 (great top end little mid range). I also plan on a few track days which I don't know if a sv650 would be up for completely stock. Thanks for the help guys and looking forward to hearing from the experts. ]]> General Bike Discussion HAZE1015 http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11505 Congrats on the new bike Brad!!! http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11499&goto=newpost Tue, 31 Aug 2010 02:59:24 GMT 2002 Suzuki Katana 600, custom paint,... 2002 Suzuki Katana 600, custom paint, 5200miles, $4000 OBO - 13x Forums ]]> General Bike Discussion Plastic Cup Politics http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11499 how do i change oil? http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11492&goto=newpost Mon, 30 Aug 2010 01:54:33 GMT im a completely new rider. my... im a completely new rider. my girlfriend rides a gsxr 600 and told me this place was a wealth of information.. i have many questions to ask.. first being how do i change my oil? by the way i drive a katana 600.. help anyone? ]]> General Bike Discussion katana http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11492 body work? http://www.suzuki-forums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11486&goto=newpost Sun, 29 Aug 2010 05:19:58 GMT Hey guys, so I bought my first bike....
