Default 6000K HID Install

Installed a set of 6000k's a while back and though I'd share the results. I'm not one for snapping pics unless there are involved but I took a couple anyways.

The ballast were slim and everything looked well constructed. The bulbs were adequately protected for shipping.

Didn't take any pics of the install since it basically mirrors the instructions except for the placement of the ballasts. Ended up mounting them under the intake tubes in the front portion of the upper fairing. The install was pretty straight forward and was done without removing any bodywork. I did remove the steering damper though to provide more room to work on the Hi beam.

The kit was plug & play and went together easily. The only exception noted was that the Hi bulb accepts a receptacle plug with 3 catches. But, the plug coming off the ballast had 4 catches. 5 seconds with a file took care of the pesky extra plastic catch.

Before: Lowbeam with a Silverstar bulb

After: Low with 6000k

The camera distorted the coloring a bit. I have since adjusted the beam slightly to the left and down a little.

The distance at which highway signs, lic. plates and cop car decals light up at night is pretty amazing. Overall, the biggest benefit is the additional safety due to the increased visibility the bike has become to other vehicles. Its hard to miss those lights in either daytime or nightime.

Is there an adjustment for my k7 750 for left to right? I think I can only do up and down

Sweet, big improvement it looks like

I had some issues with my son so I have been delayed in putting mine on yet... hopefully this weekend.

I cleaned my visor which helped out a lot If your bike was ever rideable you would see them.

I don't even want to think about my bike. I am getting sick just from the thought of what this is going to cost in labor alone. I am going on the second DAY of labor charges. 45 bucks every half hour. I think I am going to be sick.

Damn, the difference between the two lights is crazy! You're whole garage is lit up now!! When I decide on what bike to get I definately have to check these lights out.

Would you recommend this lighting system? From your post it seems that is it pretty self explanatory to install.

Cheers

IMHO the Hi beam does not add any lighting enhancement over the low beam. So, from a performance aspect there isn't much to gain with changing the Hi beam unless you want the color temps to match. Which, if you wanted to spare installing the extra wires & ballast a PIAA Hi beam bulb would suffice.

The installation is really easy with just the basic mechanical skills. Basically, its just changing bulbs and routing and hiding wires.

1OFF's product appears to be quality built and has been problem free for the last 2 weeks. They also provide a limited warranty which a lot of HID vendors may not. Actually, what surprised me the most about 1OFF was their customer service follow-up. The day my kit was delivered I received an email from Jose confirming my delivery and providing GSXR installation instructions. About a week later received another email from a sales manager inquiring whether I was satisfied with the product.

I've been looking at retrofitting some HID profectors from a Acura TSX in to take full advantage of the HIDs. Maybe a winter project?
