Hello all. I'm new to the site but need some help with a problem. I have a gixxer K2 1000 with 14k on the speedo. Having trouble with the hot rod shutting down. I utilized the paper clip shunt to put her in dealer mode and it came up clean. Pulled plugs and cleaned and changed air filter with no change. It seems to idle on its own, but when I'm starting out it just shuts off...No spitter or sputtering, just OFF. Starts right up again, and while tooling down the road she shuts off and on quite a bit. Please help!!!

it happens while in gear, and while I'm riding at highway speeds. I can actually hear and feel it shut down. I sprayed contact cleaner on the kick stand switch, but is there a way to bypass to check if it's the problem?

You can wire around it, like they do on the race bikes. Check the fuel pump while you're at it

Have you modded or changed anything recently on the bike?

I can hear the fuel injection system running when I turn the switch on, and when it stalls, It runs again. Is there something else I can check to make sure fuel pump is correct? Also, how do I wire the kickstand sensor?

You can do it at the bottom, where the sensr is, or at the top. Follow the wires up to the connector, and just wire them together :yahoo

No changes on the bike since 02. Has been running great, then had the FI indicator come on a couple times, but went back out. Now I'm told that the K2 doesn't store the code....

Ok. Thank You for the kickstand info. I thought that is what you meant, but wanted to make sure. Also, I have 14K on the bike and have never changed the fuel filter, but the Suzuki shop says not many requests for this type of problem....Generally TPS

The marks in dealer mode are right on the money according to the manual as well. It's got me baffled because when it's sitting there, you can twist the throttle and it roars to life....

Ok. I just went out and started her up. If I feather the clutch it seems to do ok. Clutch out and stalls.

sounds like a clutch engagement issue to me, that's why I was wondering about the gear position at the time of the stall. Have you adjusted your clutch recently?

Kickstand switch. The brakcet for the kickstand sucks and when it wears out the contact to the switch sucks. I bypassed mine about 50k miles ago.
