2022 Hayabusa Doesn't Like To Start When Hot

Hey there. As the title says, I bought a brand new 2022 Hayabusa and whenever the motor warms up / gets hot, it doesn't like to start. Starts cold perfectly every timer though. It doesn't matter if I ride for 5 minutes or 2 hours, if I turn the bike off to do something quick, like get gas, when I go to start the bike back up, it will not start and sounds like it has a low battery. You can hear the motor try to turn over but it's very slow and doesn't actual start. If I wait a couple of minutes and try again it fires right up. I got the battery tested, results came back perfect, replaced it anyways, and it still does it. It doesn't do this every time, but it's enough where I don't even want to ride it anymore. I don't know much about motorcycles so my troubleshooting abilities are limited. I took it back to the dealer and they said they couldn't touch it without approval from Suzuki so it's covered under warranty but Suzuki will not approve it because it's an intermittent issue. Any ideas on what it could be?

Welcome to the forum , and the world of bikes ... Could you try another dealer ? Most dealers don't like to do warranty work ... They want cash .... Find a dealer close , contact through the Suzuki website .....

Good morning. I actually spoke to another dealership yesterday who said they would take a look but they can't get me in for about 2 months (wouldn't even schedule an appointment that far out). I offered to pay out of pocket to the original dealer as well and they had the nerve to say I wasn't starting the bike correctly lol. You literally just hold down the button... and this is my 9th motorcycle... I know how to start a motorcycle. They also stated they test drove it, but the check in / check out mileage was the exact same so they lied. Just really annoying to pay $20,000 for a toy that doesn't work right. Being my first Suzuki, this experience has left a horrible taste in my mouth and I highly doubt I'll ever buy one again. Not because of the issues, that happens with every brand, but the service and reps are absolutely horrible.

I can reiterate what Bweighmaster said. I had issues with a Hyundai, took it to 4 different dealers who all refused to acknowledge the issue while clearly lying about it. One actually damaged my vehicle pretty bad and tried to cover it up.
I'd try again with a 3rd closest dealer.
Barring that, just thinking it through, things expand with heat. How could this be relevant? My first thought was a loose cable connection at the battery that maybe gets looser with heat, but you've changed the battery, and I have to assume you had the cables tight. What about the other ends of those cables? Maybe they're a little loose where they connect to the starter?

I've taken the bike apart (by that I mean all of the easy pieces like the plastics) and checked everything I personally could without voiding any warranty and couldn't find anything. I had a guy today in a bike shop say the valves might need to be adjusted and that it is common in these new Hayabusa's. Apparently after they get hot, the valves expand, and it "chugs" when trying to start until it cools off enough to have clearance. I found the last dealer in my area that will look at it on 4/14, so I'm hoping they find something.

That sounds like a good place to start .. New dealer / mechanic .... Try finding the area manager for Suzuki .. Start right at the Suzuki official website ....
Update: Dealer called Suzuki, apparently there's an update slowly hitting dealers about an ECU issue which effects the starting. So hopefully it should be fixed soon!
Recalls , best place to start looking with new vehicles .... Gonna hafta double check my new Equinox ...

Yeah I'm going to just stop buying new lol. But hopefully this fixes it. I'll update next week when I get it back and put some miles on it in case anyone else has this same issue and need to know what to tell the dealer to fix it.
Great , let us know ... We're all helping each other ....
