Figured I would start the obligitory tire thread as I just fell in love with a new tire.

I have only street expereince with a few trackdays but I definetly use all a tire has to offer out here in the Northern Cali twisties. I also rider a K5 1K so I go through a lot of tires.

I was always a Dunlop guy. For some reason or another I just fell in love with them right off the bat. (probably the same reson you fall in love with the first girl that gives it up to you)

I then went tire whoring and tried all of the following:
Perilli Diablos
Michelin PP 2CT
Michelin PP
Metzler M3
Bridgestone Bt002 (street)

After all of the whoring I was ready to go back to my good ole Dunlop Qualifier's when my best friend got a set of Perelli Corsa 3's. After he scrubbed then in we were out on Hwy 1 and decided to stop and do some filming on some of our favorite corners. After his run he pulled in to see the playback and I glanced over at his rear tire. Dam was that thing stickier than all hell. Reached down and almost pushed my thumb all the way through it was so soft.

Needless to say I had a set on my bike 2 weeks later and fell in love all over again. Best tire I have ever riden....hands down!!

Dunlop Who???

So what your favorite for street or track?
Any new ones coming out you can't wait to try?

I also have the corsa III's and i love them too, when they get warm they stick like crazy, but i won some maxxis in a raffle and those will be my next tire that i'll be putting on after i'm done with these. the only thing about the corsa i don't like is that when it's cold those fuckers are like butter they slip everywhere.

Waiting for the dunlop qualifier RR's to come out. Funny thing about me is I felt more confident with regular pilot powers than the 2ct lol. The 2ct felt amazing on the track and I'd definitely run them again but they just feel too twitchy for me on the street. I will try to bridgestone bt002 RS as my next tire. Pirelli's are still expensive and i'm a cheap bastard.

Pilot powers 2cts don't work well at these lean angles:

Or at least not at my shitty track.

I'm not sure if they really don't work that well or what, I still don't know the cause of my wreck. But either way... Alot of the guys out on the track aren't using them for that same reason.. and alot of us were sliding around on them out there.

They are a great street tire, but when you start pushing it on the track I would personally suggest either some Pilot Races, or the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa DOT race tires.

Just my personal experience and preference.

Qualifiers were great on the street and heat up super quick. They just didn't last long on my 750 (especially the rear).
750...shit try a 1000. That is the reason I started experimenting with different rubber. Never got much more milage out of any other rubber so I fianlly gave up on trying to get milage and now am just going for sticky factor.

There is a guy on Ebay slanging Corsa 3's for $240 shipped if anyone is interested PM me.

I'm actually wanting to try the Dunlop DOT race rubbers but haven't heard too much about people liking them. Anyone like the GP 209GP-A s????
LOVE THEM! I am a dunlop guy myself.......I used to run Pirelli super corsa's and went to the Dunlop 208 gp and fell in love. Turn in was so much better (profile) on the Dunlop race tires. I switched tot he 209 gp's 2 years ago and have been on them ever since. to me they are the perfect tire. I haven't had one slip at all on them. I'll post a pic from my last trackday in a sec........

I did 10track days last year on 2ct's. The picture in my avi I am on 2ct's. They worked fine but as I got faster I moved to Dunlop 209's but I would never use them on the street. I think the 2ct's are a great tire for both.

I used them after doing 10 track days on 2cts and I was amazed at how much better they are and how they don't slip.
