So i have the option of picking up this suit for a ridiculous price of $425 but dont know the first thing about suits. Is this a good deal, are they durable? Thanks for any input guys

If you are looking for a semi low priced suit, have you checked out Teknic at all? I would be very weary of buying a suit that I've never heard of.

But then again, maybe some of the OGs know something of that suit.

In comparison to the first one you posted. Yes.. in my personal opinion. I haven't ever owned a teknic myself, but I know alot of guys that wear the chicane and love it and swear by it. For the money, I hear it's a great suit. I know when new stuff comes out someone has to be the pioneer. But with something that will be protecting you I'd leave that job up to someone else to test it out.

You will hear tons of different opinions of suits. In the end it just depends on what you want, Google the suit names... read reviews everywhere you can. But I don't think you can go wrong with the chicane. Or you can always save up and get a Dainese or Spidi

PS... Just in case this is in your options also... Alpinestars suits are crap from what I see. Two of my friends have the highest price tag suits they make and both of them are coming apart at the seems and haven't been downed. I've also heard from multiple people how bad they fall apart in the event of a fall. I personally will NEVER buy an alpine suit after my 2 friends experiences and reading reviews.

They have the 07 suit and 08 suit "Gericke Race Suit ", ask them about it..

I dont have this suit, but from Friends that race they have this with no complaints...

The sizing is the difficult part. Your best bet is if you have a local store that sells suits of any brand.... Go try them on to get an idea of what you need. Although pretty much no 2 suits fit the same. If not the guys at sportbike track gear can help you with the sizing options. You can always send it back and exchange it unless you buy it from someone who sucks.

got a hein gericke suit on friday, wore it to the track on sunday, it fits awesome and appears to be put together really well, the 08 suits from sportbike trackgear have a full length back protector.
