The year/generation specific approach seems to work as do the sub forums approach. Make it easy to access and as concise as possible and it will be a hit fer-sure! Im sure other sites will lend a hand in formatting this one as well as moderators/admins personal experiences.

i might be one of the few but I honestly like a regular thread format for sale section (subforum). Hot deals can be bumped up and people can search (although some still wont) for what they need/want. Break it out into Parts, Gear, Bikes, etc.

Needs a date listed and a 3-6 month auto delete. I have asked about parts on pg 3 that were a year old and long gone.

Lover, you and I had talked about this as one of the first things I had mentioned. Like SRAD I am of the opinion that a more generation specific approach should be taken. Otherwise there will be a lot of stuff to sift though that for instance, the newer generation guys would have no interest in.

For us oil cooled guys, classifieds are a big part of why we go to certain places. If you put up an oiler specific classified section, a lot of other generation specific riders would feel left out. So it kind of has to be an all or nothing deal. Perhaps a general section for everybody at first just to sort of get the word out, and follow it up with subsections to each individual forums.

Most importantly the ads should be open to post and view by everybody for free. For this reason the mods will need to be active in removing spam type Viagra ads that will inevitably show up. Later when you are ready for it, you could keep the general section for stuff like bikes/gear, and then create specific classifieds sections for parts that would help keep the cluster to a minimum.

If you look at it again you will see there is a ling for each forum section or model.

Send me a pm and we can figure this out.

Also there will be no spam ads here...

Yeah, I didn't catch it before I posted the above. Sorry about that, you got it all just like I had envisioned it. I guess the only other suggestion I would have on that subject then would be to put a subsection under apparel, that way if somebody has a set of leathers or something for sale, they can post it there where more people would see it.

I can do that for sure....
we can also work on the other changes we were talking about too.
Cool, and I like the way you organized the classifieds so that they have thier own section, but are also viewable under the subsections. First time I'd seen it done that way and I like it.
