I just tried it with an image I have saved on avaratimage and it worked for me. Try it again and hit "preview post" before it submits and see if it changes anything....

All images must be uploaded to this forum, the problem with remote image hosting is often times those images are on very slow servers, that will slow down the loading of this site if it's waiting on other slower servers. I like things to be fast so that is why we are setup this way.

Are you trying to do this for an avatar or signature?

earlier I was trying to upload a pic of my wife for the wife/girlfriend thread
You can still insert images into post that are remote hosted, I was only referring to sigs and avatars...

Here is how,

Open new post or reply, click this image
then insert the location of the image and click "ok"

That's it....

Alright now whats the problem. I loaded the pic and it seemed like it worked but when it finally posted i get this red x instead of a pic.
Post up the URL to the pic you are trying to post and I ll see if I can get it. If not, it might be that the host doesnt allow remote linking.

I would say that's an issue with the hosting site you are using, or you have the wrong location.
Why not just click the advanced tab and upload the pic here?
