I lived there for 1 year & the ONLY reason I came back was that my Visa ran out. I was dating this SMOK'N hot Kiwi girl which made it 3 gazillion times harder to leave.
Not only is the country side beautiful the people are AWESOME too. VERY friendly & they love life. Not caught up in the rat race. It took me like 3 months to re-adjust to American life when I came back.

The job ops were many. When I lived there the exchange was 2:1 in favor of the US. Now it's $1 to $1.26 NZ dollar.
I'm sure you could find work real easy there if you wanted to. The food is awesome as well. All the cattle & chickens are free range grass fed. The meat products are SUPER tender.
