I like having a place to work on my bike, and being I keep it in a garage, I wanted a place to work on it without laying in the floor which sucks! I looked online at a few stands...stationary.....adjustable......and they were all more than I wanted to spend, so I ended up making a wooden one that's worked perfect for me in the almost year that I have had it.
I started by putting my bike on stands and measuring from the gas tank lid to my eye level. I think it was like 20 inches, so I got an 8' X 4' piece of plywood and cut it down to 8' X 3' wide piece, and took the 8' X 1' strip and made 2 seperate 3' X 1' "extensions" I guess you could say my workbench is extended??? Then I took 2x4's and cut plenty of them to 20" for the "legs" Here's the end result, when my bike is on it, the gas tank lid is right at eye level, and it mkes work 100X easier.
I have about $60 worth of wood and an hour of my time in it
