I've read that the shift light comes disabled from the factory. How do you able it and set the shift light? I read the manual and tried to turn it on and set it but it's a lil confusing and I can't seem to get it working.

btw. I'm more a visual person. thanks

i dont remember which button it is but with the 750 you have to hold the button while turning on and the shift light should light up or something like that then you can adjust where you want it and how you want it to light up. hopefully this helps.

ya its a pain in the ass. I havent done it in a while. Its not the same Captain as on your bike. Its been a lil while since ive done it. when i get home ill do it and repost for yall.:dunnoat the moment i cant remember if its the top button or the bottom.
you can set it to either do a solid continuous light or a pulshing light once indicator passes desired(or preset) rpm. I like it to be in continuos. Flashing lights to me mean go faster:shock

That's how mine is as well. And it's in memory until you adjust it. The owners manual tells you how to set it.

I GOT IT!!!! yea i'm happy I figure something out. hehe

This is done on a k7 1000. Sorry no pictures. I can take some if requested.

To set the shift light to either continuously on or blink and RPM setting. First:

Put your key in the ignition but don't turn.
Push and hold the selection button, then turn the key ignition on.
After everything loads up ( I let the cluster load up), push the adjust button to choose light on or light blink.
When you have it set to whichever you want, push the selection button again.
Now push the selection button again and the RPM needle will move.
To move the needle, push the adjust button (and keep pushing) to go to which RPM you want.
After you have it set, push the selection button.

And done.

I hope this helps

The only thing I can think of would be the shift light, and you can adjust it to turn on at any RPM you would like. Once your engine hits that RPM, the light will turn on telling you that you have reached it. Other than that I don't know what it would be, you could always try posting a picture of it. But I'm assuming that's what you are talking about.

I'll find the procedure for you online to set it, unless you have your owners manual handy by any chance

It's not looking like it has one

Compact instrument cluster includes analog tach, LCD speedometer, odometer/tripmeters, and temperature gauge, plus LCD clock and low fuel warning light
