What anti theft device...........

do you guys use out there? Man, I wasn't real worried about my bike getting ripped until I've read all of the stories here. I've got a disc lock that I seldom use. I ride my bike to work in the summer and park it out in the lot. That's about the only time it's unnattended. Other than that it's in my garage at night. Forget the chain and pole device, I'm looking for an alarm system or something technical.

keep it in a well lit area or safe are and just put a huge cable through the rear tire then lock it. This way they c an see it and it will stop most people dead in their tracks. The best is to keep it in a garage, but if you don't have there are locking devices that bolt into the cement then lock your front/rear tire in so it's impossible to get it out. They cost a few hundred dollars though.
I have a Scorpio alarm with a 2-way pager.

-Shock sensor
-Perimeter Sensor
-Tilt Sensor
-Ignition tampering indicator

A disc lock is not going to deter most thieves. I've had a bike stolen and people have tried to steal the current bike I have 4 times (that I actually know about). I used to have my bike chained up also on top of the alarm. Thank god for that alarm. It has more than paid for itself 4 times over.

Chain didn't do much good. I had an Onguard giant armored cable thingy...well it has a week spot apparently. I never did get it settled with Onguard who had offered to replace it. They just couldn't return a phone call I guess.

I try to avoid going anywhere on the bike that I can't park either right in front of the building or where it will stay in my sight at all times. But I know some people just don't have a choice or live near bad areas....which sucks. I used to roll my bike in the front door and leave it in our foyer when we lived in a shittier area.

I've rolled mine inside too. :biggrin

It's a lot harder at the new apartment but I can still get it inside if I have to go out of town or something.
I'm with PCP, I try not to leave it out of my sight
My anti theft is James' garage :biggrin

And plus...who would want to steal a kawasucki 250 when there's a gixxer 1000 sitting right next to it?

The Scorpio SR-i500SE alarm is a really good alarm. I had one on both of my bikes and love them. I actually sold one of my bikes and have the alarm that was on the bike sitting in my closet. I am looking to sell it if anyone is interested. It was on the bike for close to 3 months and everything is in like new condition. I paid $399.99 at the time but they can be found for $299.99 on sale. If interested make me an offer.

Heres some links.

What do I use? a NY chain, and a crazy HD lock, but I'm comforted in the fact that at home I have a sawed off 10 gauge, heh.
